The RotorLab 18Z BBK comes with:

---the pair of aluminum 6-piston Brembo 18Z calipers, customized to your color and logo preference (see the caliper section for color and logo choices), and modified to work with our rotors

---the pair of our in-house custom 345mm crossdrilled rotors (several different patterns that we have)

---our in-house engineered bolt kit

---the pad mounting hardware set

The ONLY thing our kits do not come with that "the other guys" kits do is pads and lines.

We do not sell pads. Why? Because there's like 20 different brands of pads out there, and everyone has their own personal preference anyway. When purchasing pads for this kit, buy them for a 2004 Touareg with the 350mm rotors. If you go with that, you'll get the right stuff. We recommend Bosch QuietCast, because they are an excellent quality German pad, with amazing longevity, fairly low dust, and can routinely be pursched for around 40 or 45 bucks a set.

We also do not sell the braided steel lines, which in most cased will be necessary with this BBK. Call us and we'l point you in the right direction for good quality lines at a very good price.

DO NOT make the mistake of buying banjo-bolt lines. These were intended for a conical, male-tupped crush-fit end, just like the factory ones....banjo bolt ends are likely to leak, as the aluminum of these calipers is soft, and does not go well with a brass banjo bolt and 2 copper crush washers. Avoid those.

This is a full B6 B7 S4 18Z kit we did for a customer with a B6 A4, with match-coated rear B6/B7 rear calipers and 300mm rear S4 rotors, for the full upgrade front and rear "package deal"

RotorLab 18Z BBK in Carbon Metallic Silver

AUDI APPLICATIONS:

1---B5 Audi A4 1.8T or V6, Quattro or FWD

NOTE: uprights (strut towers) must be upgraded to B5 S4 uprights, and you need to consider switching to the S4 master cylinder. Not "mandatory", no---but not a bad idea either

2---B5 S4

excellent upgrade on this car, especially for Stage III owners who need the added braking power to keep up with the engine

3---B6 A4 1.8T or 3.0 V6, Quattro or FWD

excellent upgrade, easy to install because most factory lines thread right in the back

4---B7 A4 2.0T or 3.2 V6---Quattor or FWD

same as B6---once again an easy install because of the factory lines

5---C5 Allroad

One of the best all-around you can do to this car, again especially for Stage III owners

6---B6 or B7 S4

This is our most-requested kit for these cars....fantastic upgrade all around, and we get numerous requests for the rear end upgrade as well, as you see in the picture here

8---Audi A3, both FWD and Quattro, thru 2014

Easy install because we these are built on the VW Mk5 and Mk6 platform..uses a slightly different 345mm rotor

9---C5 S6 and C5 4.2 PLEASE NOTE:   this kit you see will not fit----BUT----we now have an all new 18Z kit for you!! Just developed in February of 2018...it is only slightly more expensive---only $1050. Please call us and we will provide the details on fitment and so forth.....there is a slight bit of modification that is necessary....very easy, simple and quick...we will explain.

BIG NOTE HERE: the 18Z (and 17Z) kits WILL NOT FIT B8 APPLICATIONS, PERIOD. When Audi created the B8 platform, the front and rear suspension and brakes were SUBSTANTIALLY changed. You would have to try and grind off more than half an inch of metal to even BEGIN to get close to them fitting. IT JUST AINT HAPPENING, FOLKS. Jump to our new B8 kit instead----nice upgrade and very affordable. CALL US AND WE WILL SEND YOU PICTURES AND DETAILS.

VW APPLICATIONS:

1---all VW MK5 or MK6 platforms, including standard Golf and Jetta, Mk5 R32, GTI and GLI, CC thru 2013 and the Mk6 Golf R. We simply use a slightly different 345mm rotor that has the correct 65mm center bore for your car, so that no rotor centering rings are needed

2---MK4---we have heard that there are certain adapters out there that allow the use of 18Z's, but we cannot vouch for it, nor will we guarantee fitment. 17Z, yes-----but not 18Z

BIG NOTE HERE ON THE VW MK7:

THE MK7 PLATFORM (MQB) IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMAL,  FOLKS. WE GET 8-10 CALLS A MONTH ABOUT THE MK7---IT IS NOT CUT AND DRY. ONLY A FEW OF THE MK7 VARIATIONS WILL WORK. CALL US AND WE WILL EXPLAIN. WE WILL NOT TRY TO EXPLAIN ALL OF THIS IN AN EMAIL MESSAGE---WAY TOO MUCH INFORMATION TO TRY AND COVER IN AN EMAIL. CALL US.

RotorLab Stage 2 kit in blue with white Porsche logo, on our mockup jig for demonstration purposes

RotorLab 18Z 345mm Big Brake Kit

The RotorLab 18Z 345mm BBK is a huge braking power upgrade on a number of Audi and VW applications. On most platforms it is roughly a 40 to 45% braking power increase---it is massive. And once again, our prices put "the other guys" to shame. (Almost $2000 for "their" 18Z kit? That's crazy).

CURRENT 18Z BBK PRICE : $975 plus shipping. NO, THAT IS NOT A MISPRINT---almost $1000 dollars less than everybody else.

The RotorLab 17Z Stage 2 BBK comes with:

---the pair of aluminum 6-piston Brembo 17Z calipers, customized to your color and logo preference (see the caliper section for color and logo choices), and modified to work with the new Stage 2 rotors

---the custom in-house engineered bolt kit

---the pad mounting hardware

---the pair of modified 330mm Stage 2 crossdrilled rotors

The ONLY thing our kits do not come with that "the other guys" kits do is the pads and the required braided steel lines.

We do not sell pads. Why? Because there's like 20 different brands of pads out there, and everyone has their own preference anyway.  When purchasing pads for this kit, buy them for a 2004 VW Touareg V6 with the 330mm rotors. If you go with that, you cant go wrong.  We recommend Bosch Quietcast, because theyre excellent German quality, long-lasting, lower dust and don't cost a fortune---typically around 50 bucks for a set.

We also do not sell braided steel brake lines. This is necessary on most VW and Audi applications.

If your factory lines end in a conical, male-tipped, crush-fit end, then you're fine---as almost all of them are M10x1.0 metric fine. But many end in a banjo bolt that is M12 x 10....which will not fit anyway.

We usually recommend switching to aftermarket braided steel lines. If you want or need to get them, make sure you get ones that end in a male end---NOT in a "banjo bolt" type of end. The aluminum of the calipers and the case material is very soft, and was not meant for a banjo bolt fitting---and may not seal well. These calipers were designed to have a male end threaded into the back side with a crush fit, period. For best and safest results and a good seal, stick with male-ended lines.

AUDI APPLICATIONS:

1---B5 Audi A4 1.8T or V6, Quattro or FWD

NOTE: uprights (strut towers) must be upgraded to B5 S4 uprights

2---B5 S4

great upgrade to the stock twin-piston calipers and 321mm rotors

3---B6 A4 1.8T or 3.0 V6, Quattro or FWD

excellent upgrade, easy to install because the factory lines thread right in the back

4---B7 A4 2.0T or 3.2 V6---Quattro or FWD

same as B6---once again an easy install because of the factory lines

5---C5 Allroad

One of the best all-around you can do to this car

6--Audi A3 thru 2013...easy application because these were built on the VW Mk5 and Mk6 platforms.....HOWEVER----you will need rotor centering rings (NOT "hubcentric rings")

VW APPLICATIONS:

1---VW Mk5, Mk6 Golf, Jetta, GTI, GLI, NB, Passat and CC

NOTE: Passat and CC *may* require additional mods, but 5 of our customers have now installed them----but again, you must get rotor centering rings (NOT "hubcentric rings")

2---VW Mk4-----the 17Z calipers will fit on the Mk4 platform platform with a set of adapters--call or email us and we'll give you details...it is a unique arrangement that needs to be explained. We have a complete, separate kit for Mk4...call us for details.

Full Brake Kits for Audi and VW

17Z

New RotorLab 17Z "Stage 2" 330mm Big Brake Kit

At RotorLab we believe you should be able to get into a full big brake kit (a "BBK") without having to take out a 2nd mortgage on your house. The vast majority of the BBK's out there on the market are exhorbitantly expensive, and we all know it--far beyond what "the average Audi or VW owner" either has or even wants to spend, quite frankly. And understandably so. Almost $2000 bucks for an 18Z kit? Over $1700 for a 17Z kit? You've gotta be kidding. Who cares how "nice" they are if you cant even afford it, right? And 600 to 1000 bucks to replace their fancy 2-piece rotors every 15 to 20 months? Forget it.

THIS is where RotorLab comes into the equation----with superior-quality BBKs THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY AFFORD. A RotorLab BBK not only gets you into a high-quality BBK that will add major braking power to your Audi or VW, it will also (unlike the other guys) let you customize it to YOUR specs and optics----all at a price that "the other guys" CANT EVEN GET CLOSE TO. And to top it off, RotorLab BBKs are a full bolt-on kit: no special or unique tools or processes are needed whatsoever, and no special or "non-reversible" modifications need to be performed on your car. We've done ALL the engineering. You just install, and drive. Too easy. Pan down below for more details and prices on our 17Z and 18Z kits. 17Z is listed first, followed by 18Z below it.

The new RotorLab 17Z "Stage 2" 330mm BBK is a noticeable upgrade from our old Stage 1 kit, for several reasons:

#1:   ROTOR WIDTH---the old kit used modified Merc C230 "Sport Package" rotors...which were way too narrow. In some cases, the pistons were having to come halfway out of their recesses by the time the pads had gotten worn down---which badly reduces the clamping power of the caliper, because the master cylinder is having to push WAY more fluid than it should, in order to fill up the cylinders and move the pistons. They also warped WAY too easily. Our new rotors are almost 4.5mm wider--which is always good.

#2:   VANE STRUCTURE---the new rotors have a much better internal vane structure, which of course means better cooling---better cooling is always good.

#3:   CROSSDRILL PATTERN---the Merc rotors quite frankly had a really wimpy crossdrill pattern (they came that way--that was not our crossdrill pattern), which (amazingly) was only available in one direction in aftermarket form, if you can believe that...the only way to get the actual lefts and rights was from the Merc dealer at $245 EACH...so.....so much for the low price, right?   The new Stage 2 rotors have a much more aggressive crossdrill pattern--it is OUR crossdrill pattern, and it is symmetrical from left to right, the way it SHOULD be! Duh!

#4:   CENTER BORE---the Merc rotors are 67mm center bore....so for Audi applications, some guys were just using a flapper wheel to open it up. Not too smart---it is nearly impossible to get it perfectly round using that method...which increases the chances for vibration from uneven rotation. We believe that is a mistake. (ours were being professionally rebored)  And for VW applications, nobody makes 65mm to 67mm rotor centering rings, that we know of-----too thin of material. The new Stage 2 rotors have a center bore that is ALREADY 68mm---which is perfect for Audi, and can easily be made to work with commercially available, readily-available 3mm rotor centering rings (NOT "hubcentric rings"), so that they will fit on the 65mm VW center bore. Call us for details, we will point you in the right direction.

#5:   BOLT PATTERN---the Merc bolt pattern actually is 5x112.5, believe it or not-----NOT 5x112.  That is not a joke. And some of these idiots out there were just saying "oh it's fine, just hog out the holes so that they'll clear your 5x112 pattern". That is asking for a trip to the morgue. (We can explain.) Unlike the Merc rotors, we put an all-new, CORRECT 5x112 bolt pattern on them, with correct M14 lugbolt holes, for a safe, correct fit.

On most platforms the 17Z Stage 2 kit is roughly a 35 to 40% braking power increase---a substantial jump. And at a price that "the other guys" dont even want to think about. Honestly, it's not even a contest.

17Z STAGE 2 KIT CURRENT PRICE : $825 plus shipping. THAT IS NOT A MISPRINT.
